Aod Not Shifting Out Of 2nd Gear :(

I just bought a used AOD trans and installed it, the guy said it worked fine when he pulled it to swap to a T-5 trans, it works fine in reverse and shifts from 1st to 2nd with no problems, but it won't shift up into 3rd or OD, just gets to a point where it should shift and quits pulling. Is there anything I should check with it still in the car or just drop it and rebuild? The bushing on the TV cable is fine, the cable is working properly and the pressure is good. I had wanted to use it while rebuilding the trans I took out because it has upgraded parts in it but was having issues with reverse.

Check and make sure your 2-3 up shift valve is stuck. Or broken keeper that sound like that could be the problem, but I could be totally wrong with out seeing the tranny and or looking at the tranny filter to tell you the rest

Thanks, I'll take a look at that and see if it seems stuck, should it just push in fairly easy or how should I check it? I could take the valve body from my other trans and swap it out also, that one has had some work done to it and was in a performance trans while the one in the car now is stock.
