Hey all,

I've done several searches on here and read alot but I cant find an answer to this.....

I'm in the middle of the swap, just pulled the collum and old shifter out....what do you do with the cable that goes from the collum to the shifter?? Do I have to find a 5sp collum or just take all that stuff off??

And where does this wire plug into??

A big thanks in advance!

Brandon

That switch is for the cruise control shut off. If you have cruise then there should be a corresponding connector for it it may have a jumper in it already since it was an AOD car previously.

What cable are you referring to? When I hear cable I'm thinking its a something like a clutch cable. Unless you mean a wire.

Ok, thanks...not worried about the cruise control.

There is a small cable that runs from the AOD shifter under the carpet then up the steering collum. Its some kinda saftey thing I'm guessing.....there is a pig tail that plugs into a cylinder that the cable goes through before it stops at the ign wires.

I can't see the pic on my phone, but if it's what I remember, that wire is for the shift lock, you have to press the brake pedal to shift from park. You don't need it with the 5-speed. I just tucked it up under the dash in mine.
