I got me a pos 2.3 to 5.0 Stangenstein....with a pos AOD tranny. My problem is that it only has two gears, it will not got into 3rd gear at all. First off, the linkage is reversed on it, so where park usually is, it is drive, and vica versa. Does anybody think that the linkae being reversed could cause something to be causing the tranny not to upshift to 3rd?? I have put plenty of fluid in it, and it still won't go into 3rd, I just cruise at about 50, wide open. So, if anybody has any other suggestions, other than a T-5 swap, which is coming in the future, lemme know, aight??

tv cable might not be set correctly. do a search on tv cable. if its not that then its the valvebody. its not free reving when it shifts to drive is it?if so the 3-4 shaft is broke.

What is a tv cable?? As for the free revving, nope, it's never happened, it goes right into gear and takes off, never has slipped a bit. It does leak a little bit of fluid, though. To the tune of about 2 qts per month. Not much at all. I haven't even been underneath it at all, so I have no idea what it even looks like under there, so if there is something in specific I should be looking for, let me know exactly what it is. Thanks

its a cable that goes from tranny to throttle body. it connects right beside the throttle cable,it should have a plastic or brass gromet where it connects to tb
