Let me start by saying that I did search, but did not get a definitive answer.
My tranny in my 90 GT blew this past summer. I had it completely rebuilt and a shift kit installed. The pressure on the kit was set at the highest point. THis was fun in 1-2 and 2-3 but felt like the trans was going to fall off with the 3-4 shift.
I brought it back to have the kit readjsuted and it was discovered that part of the problem that I was feeling was bad control arms in the rear. I replaced those and now the sounds have definitely improved. While there, they did adjust the kit pressure and now the shifts are quicker, more responsive and smoother. It accelerates great from one to 3 around town. I cannot always keep going to make OD. When this happens and I let off the gas it seems to jump into OD (4).
My question is
1- is this normal
2 - should I leave the car in D not OD around town to prevent this?
3- should I have it readjusted / looked at again?
THANKS
