Aod Transmission"Crank down"??

Ilook at Drove a Aod Tranny today for sale from a guy at work It's been 3 months since he had his Aod rebuilt but what I thought was is when he said he had it "cranked down" for more trq He rarely tows a jet ski. And he said he had it specificlly done for that reason because he was told because he was towing in this car that was caused the tranny to act up.Runs smooth but it shift's gears quickly almost 2to3rd to 4th almost immediatly at real low rpms1500-2000 NOt "jerky"but has a good pull.87gt The only reason I,m getting this is to replace my current p.o.s. So anyways what the hell is he talking about"Cranked Down" for more torque????? What can you do to a AOD tranny .....
