AOD work in place of C5?

My buddy has an 88LX and his C5 just went out , I have an AOD I just took out of my 89 , Can I put my AOD in its place?

If it was a small block LX, the aod should bolt up. I believe the rear mount points are about 1 1/2 in different, based on my C4/aod planning.

The C5 is just a C4 with a lockup converter and an small extra valvebody to supposedly improve shifting.

You need the cooler lines and the aod throttle valve cable.
