last winter my tranny did this thing where when i first drive it when it was real cold out, it wouldnt shift out of first gear for about 10 seconds, it would just keep revving, and then finaly slam into 2nd.... it went away with the warm weather, but since last week it does it to me all the time, and its been like 75 out every day..it doesnt suprise me because ive been beating the hell out of with with my nitrous, and it doesnt bother me because as soon as it dies im swapping it for a tko 3550, but any ideas on what it might be?

check your modulator. mine does the exact same thing, as does my dad's truck, and my girlfriend's honda. mine isn't as severe tho and usually doesn't happen if i let my car warm up when it's coldd.

Modulator

The AODE does not have a modulator so don't waste your time looking up on it.
If you don't know about these things don't post ignorant answers.

True....that is the dumbest thing I have heard yet - modulator on AODE HAHA! People will confuse on AOD, but not on AODE......

your problem is sticky valve body and governor. Take the driveshaft down, and pull the tail housing - in there will be a rotating mass called the governor - take it apert and clean it where it moves FEELY in it's bore. Now drop the pan and take the VB down - clean it with carb cleaner (the best) until it is immaculant - bolt it all up, addf luid - done deal!

It could be a number of things, mlps, worn seals, burnt clutches, ect. I would just start on planing the swap. A stock aode isnt made to handel that much power. Now one that is built is another story.

i know i know, i just thought if it was easy fix then i could just get it shifting right and not spend the money on a tko now, but o whell tko here i come... Is there an entire kit for a aode to tko3550 swap? i know ive seen brand new swap kits before, and also is there anything aftermarket i should install while i put in the 5 speed?

TKO and 3550 are two different transmissions

I think D&D performance can set you up with an entire kit
