Remove the tranny cooler lines cuz they just get in the way. You're going to have to snake them out or just cut them out. There are metal clips holding the two lines together, just take those clips off and it will be easier to move them around.

Now I think you're talking about the two top bolts that go from the tranny to the engine. Get up on the engine bay and put a light down there, you will see the two top tranny bolts. You might have to move some of the vacuum lines out of the way, I didn't but it might help. Then take a socket wrench and fit it in there. That seemed to be the easiest way for me. Or you can do it from under the car, you might be able to see them from there. I don't remember the dipstick tube being in the way, but it is on that bracket.

Awesome. Now take the AOD-E to a military weapons testing facility and have them launch a couple missiles at it.

haha i know its a rustang...While its sitting im going to try to sand down that rust and coat it in something so it doesnt rust anymore(suggestions) I wish i didnt have to drive it in the winter, i had it covered for the first half of last winter then the truck i was driving broke down and i had to get the stang out. i cant wait to get that tko 500 in im going to be so happy...Any ideas what kind of difference that will make in my 1/4 times? i was going 15.2's on kumoh extas, so i know i could have hit mid 14's with my nittos, but with that tko and nittos what should i be running>?

I went from a 15.01 with the auto to a 14.07 on street tires with the 5 speed with no other changes in the set up.

Well I ran into a balance issue with the pressure plate. They sent me a pressure plate that had a bad balance to it. It's supposed to be zero-balance. Thankfully D&D sent me a new pressure plate and I'll be putting it on tomorrow and hopefully everything will be fine. Make sure you get a 50 oz flywheel.

So what are you doing with your old AODE? Was it still in good operating condition?

C4 would be a great transmission if you don't need overdrive....they're tough sonsofbitches.

Yup, no OD band in the old C4...gonna be high RPMs with those 4.10s you got. Gotta keep it low speed on the highway if thats what you get.

I think I just made you rethink getting rid of the AODE.

I like my AODE- mine seems to be pretty tough and takes the 2-3 shift on nitrous with no problem.

well i took out the aode because it wont shift from 2nd gear, and a lot o f the time it wont even leave 1st...I was planning on ordering the tko 500 monday but i dont know if i'll have the money and i want to get the car running again and sell it here soon and by a bike and another mustang, but if i do get the money together to get that tko then if i sell it i'll throw a t5 in there when i get rid of it and keep the tko

Well if you just want to sell the mustang soon then you can buy my used AOD-E from me. What state are you in? I'll sell it much cheaper than what a rebuild would cost. A rebuild runs about $1,000 or more. The trans works fine.
