Hello there, I recently upgraded from a fox-bodied Mustang to a 94 GT. I've installed equal-length headers, 2.5 off-road h-pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters. I've also installed under-drive pulleys and a K&N filter. I purchased the car with a bum transmission (AODE), so I took this time to have a race ready transmission installed, it's got all the goodies ie: shift-kit, larger servo and a tad larger than stock stall converter. All good mods right? Well...I took it for a spin at the tracks recently and the best et's I could pull were 16's!!! Hell my 92 ran 16's stock before all those upgrades!
I'm looking for help...I'm being told 94/95's are a basket case for mods like: ECU's reject upgrades, chips required for every install, can't go carb w/o total loss of electronics? Do I really need a 93 ECU before mods? Did the 94/95 really get the cold shoulder? I really want to mod my car with cams and TB's MAF's but where do I begin and what's the right things to buy? I've mod-ed 87-93's in my life so someone just make my 94 hum like it should! I've given thought to a 331 or 408 but what's needed to keep the computer from shuttin her down? And is 16's the best I can hope for her w/o a motor swap? My first post...I hope someone can find the time to point me in the right direction! Thanks!
