Are Hawk brake pads really that much better?

im thinking of trying Carbotech pads for my next set. i currently run motorcraft pads in the rear and the stock Galpher pads on the front(thats what comes with the Brembo kit).

check out the open track section of svt performance, there are a lot of opinions from people that road race their cars real hard.

I threw my Hawk pads right into the trash can.
I totaly agree with you San.
Hawk brake pads are notrious for making noises when you
are braking.I would never put thoses on my car after reading
about peoples experiences with them.
Seriously get the OEM Motorcraft brake pads front and back
they work very well. :nice:

I have some hawks on stock rotors and they stop a lot better than stock pads. They were really noisy at first and squealed a bit right before coming to a stop. Now they aren't quite as noisy and they only squeal for about 1 second before I come to a complete stop. Lots of dust and I've had mine on for at least 15,000 miles.

Oh i forgot to add...those parts store pads were noisy. They weren't that bad but they would squeal for like 1 second at a certain pedal pressure. It annoyed the crap out of me to the point where i would think i was hearing it with the windows up and the radip on.

I took them out and put OEM pads in. Much better. Tirerack also sells Brembo blanks for the rear for $34 each. I think i'm gonna buy a pair
