Are There Any Bullitt-Type Side Panels That Don't Require 2-Sided Tape?

Hello,

Does anyone know of any Bullitt-style (no scoop) panels that don't require 2-sided tape?

The only Bullitt-style panels I've ever been able to find are at the following URL:

I've tried these before, and I made the mistake of not using 2-sided tape, and one of them fell off.

The problem is that they don't have any supports in the front, which is why you have to use 2-sided tape.

If I can't find anything else, I'm going to give these a try again, but this time I'll use industrial-strength 2-sided tape, or maybe even drill a couple of holes in them and use some sort of screws, or maybe I'll try epoxying supports on the front.

I'm really looking forward to getting rid of the fake side scoops on my Stang.

Another thing I've thought of doing is removing the fake side scoops, and then filling in the area with fiberglass. However, I'm not sure how well fiberglass would hold onto the metal body. Would Bondo work better? Also, I really don't want to have to leave my Stang at a body shop in order to have the fiberglass painted, and I'm sure I would not be able to do a good job of painting it myself. Has anyone else tried the fiberglass/bondo route?

By the way, has anyone had any problems with the Bullitt side panels falling off, even with industrial 2-sided tape?

Edit: I think I saw, on one website, that the 2004 Boss 302 was offering a side scoop delete option. I wonder how that's done?

Are the ones on the website the same as the Ford ones?

In other words, do the Ford ones not have fasteners in the front either?

For the actual Bullitt Mustangs, are the side panels held on with 2-sided tape?

Wolfhound and Greenstang, thanks for the input. It sounds like the 3M tape is the stuff to use. I used it when I put my "GT" badges back on, after getting a fender and the trunk lid repainted, and it is much stronger than the ordinary 2-sided tape.

So unless someone says that there is some other side scoop delete, I guess I'll order those Bullitt side scoops from the website again.

Well, I went to www.imboc.com, the Bullitt website, and found out that the real Bullitt side panels are the same as the ones at the website above, so they require 2-sided tape in front also.

So if no one else knows of any other ways to do a side scoop delete (2004 Boss 302?), I guess I'll go with the ones from the website.
