Can anyone tell me a bit about emmissions in Arizona? I will be moving down to Arizona this summer and need to know what to leave on my car to pass. Do they do an under hood check? EGR, Coal Box, etc? Thanks.....
They do a gas cap check, visual inspection for catalytic coverters, AIR system check (pop hood and inspect). Then they put you on wheels, check emmisions at idle, then at a specific speed (whatever is set for your car).
I imagine that the under the hood check will not be very detailed. Every time they pop the hood of my car, they look for 4 seconds, then shut the hood.
So if you make your AIR system look like it's there, then I imagine they won't even bother. But they do use mirriors to look under the car.
But I think emmisions out here isn't very strict. But being so close to california, it might get worse in the years to come.
