At what point is a professional tune worth the cost?

I'm just wondering at what stage in modification a professional tune/burn/whatever (I'm way behind when it comes to the electronic aspect of our cars) worth what it costs to have done? I'm just wondering how much I would benefit from having it dyno-tuned. Mods are in sig, anyone with more knowledge than me (read: almost everyone) is WELCOME to reply! Thanks.

Depending on what your long term goals are......Don 95Vert makes custom chips that will wake up what you have....If you go with H/C/I or S/C you will def. need a tune whether it is a chip or Tweecer....There are more knowledgeable peeps that will chirp in....good luck with whatever you decide..

I see you be a auto kinda guy :)

A tune can firm up your shifts a bit.

As for power ................

Well, a tune is for power, that we all know.

A combo with just bolt ons will not really gain all that much power from a tune.

As for drivability ................

If you have plans that are just bolt ons, don't go for maf upgrade and you most likely will not have drivability issues or the need for a tune.

A tune is also to ease the :bang: from a more serious combo which will most likely give grief with drivability issues. One who goes to the expense with such a combo as this would want to maximize power so, he would just solve both issues with a tune anyway.

Hope that gives you some ideas :)

What is the cost of chips of this nature?
