I just had my wife's car inspected... It turns out that there won't be a sniffer test, but there will be a computer scan of the car (they are looking for fault codes) along with a regular safety inspection... this will only effect car 1996 and newer... looks like you make passed the radar with your 393

I live in upstate NY and from what i've read, only 96 and newer cars will require a sniffer test. Anything older will still only have to pass a visual.

The funny thing is-Everyone who loves NYC, Isnt from NYC..
nowif I lived upstate-i would probably dig it, Becuase-you wouldnt have to deal with all the Bewl-Chit, Traffic, land sized crater potholes, foreigners, tourists, Tolls-crazy renst, no room to move...etc etc....

We might have a lot of cows upstate, but just think of all the open back roads to see what your hog is made of.

I actually just talked with the guy that does my inspections and he said I was fine. Just wanted to know if you guys knew different before I dump $5000 into this thing and ended up with a killer motor that sits on an engine stand.

trust me, Persoanlly-i love it upstate!!! the a city sux, its for conveinence, thats it, Quality of life-Blows. imgaine getting a parking ticket for $115, or have to pay .25 cents for 10 minutes to park-Thats some of the bewl-chit-I deal with...
or even worse-having to pay $450 for parking....... Do ya wanna throw up-Now or later!!!! Or have to watch your back @ train stations for fear of being pushed in front of an oncoming subway train....everyday, being all the nutjobs that just got released from instituions that are walking around the city!!!

I lived in NYC for a short period of time. All of the above is true and it broke my upstate heart! Ive been living in the twin cities for 2 years and now Im moving to Dallas in 3 months

I have been to NYC a few times and I can honestly say that I will never consider living there. Rochester and Syracuse are just fine for me.
