hey ive got a 03gt with the shaker system. going to a touch screen set up. is there any special adapters i need to keep the stock amps in play. ive been told there are. ive got a guy that will do the install for 100.00 not sure if it would be worth it just to give it all to him to do? thoughts?

When I upgraded the head unit in the 97, they recommended I install a line level reducer, just to bring the volume to reasonable levels. I had the mach 460 system, but I would guess it is the same deal for the shaker system. Basically, if you install the new head unit without any changes, it will be excessively loud with little control of the volume at low levels. The line level reducer just installs inline with the speaker wires, between the amps and the head unit.

just make sure you buy the metra harness :Metra Amplifier Integration Harness - 705519
i had this for my old deck and worked perfectly and had no line level reducer and it sounded fine. but i have a touch screen now and took out the mach 460 and re-wired the speakers and i think it sounds better now
especially with an aftermarket sub so that might me something to think aboutSimilar threads
