OK, so I'm a dummy. I've got a new shift bezel for my '98 auto GT that I need to install and I can't get the auto shifter lever to come off. I see there's a hole in the back of the shifter that looks like you stick something into it to release the lever. But I can't get the lever off, and sticking an allen wrench in that hole to release the shifter doesn't feel like it's hitting any sort of release mechanism. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Louie

Theres an alan screw in there, just gotta make sure you get the right size key, its pretty small. i've taken mine off though.

I've got a new problem: how do you unplug the electric lead going to the overdrive switch? It has a strange connector that I just cannot figure out how to disconnect. This whole shift bezel removal was much harder than I thought it would be due to my ignorance LOL. Thanks for the help... as you all can tell I'm new to this Mustang thing. I can tear down my DeLorean without a hiccup, but the Stangs are pretty foreign to me. -Louie
