Oh look who's back "Mr. I didn't make that comment boy". get a life there's a kewbra section for a reason.

TO Alex96stang:

I'm not sure about the swap but i've been thinking about it myself. As far as I know you'll need:

Clutch pedal
Brake pedal
The trans w/shifter
and probly a new computer other wise the car will most likely try to shift itself.

First off you guys dont need to rip the Cobra he is just trying to help. Second all the things are listed above that you need I think. Your going to need some oils new gaskets and a ton of tools. Tranny's arent to light either so I would suggest haveing some way of hosting it before you start to pull it out. It is a great thing to switch to a manual tranny it will halp you preform better on the 1/4 mile as long as you know how to shift. Dont use a stock ford clutch either they suck. I would make some calls see who around where you live and look to see what they would charge for the kinda work.

Actually, its a very good idea to swap the computer over to one on a manual. I know a guy who did this and it fried his old computer that was trying to run an auto tranny. So try doing some research on this information and contribute something worthwhile, other than just cutting other members down. It will make you look like a LOT less of an idiot.

seems to me like an auto to manual swap is a very large project. before you start i would make sure that you figure out if it would be worth while with the cons being COST, time, and downtime on your car, (probably somethin else i forgot too). are there enough pros that can outweigh the cons?

pros - cost is less than a grand, time is a weekend max, probabl just a long day, and downtime would be the same, cuz as soon as its hooked up, you can drive it, plus better gas mileage and a lot more fun driving. cost could be offset slightly by selling old tranny and computer
