me and a buddy did this over the summer and i never started a thread. so here we go

we started with this

dont mind that HUGE wing. we call it the ironing board or the 747

started with this 93 3.8 sc 60k on it. no title

guy who onwed it before gutted it to make a race car but never finished and got rid of all the org parts and the title with it

what we did.

full cage
5 lug swap (mustang spec)
cobra brakes
full adjustable suspenion

mock up motor

motor back from machine shop ( 306 )

and we painted it ford blue

interior

then the motor was pulled and sold. then motor from a mustang (same combo ) was pulled and put in the race car. made a little over 340 rwhp in the mustang

looking back..i should of bought the roller from him

and put in the car.

then pulled back out. had to beat the k member into submission to fit the 5.0 in it

we made a mess

then motor went back in for good.

then nascar style exhasut

its very loud

then a new windshild

all in all took us till about november to "finish" completly

photochop...why we call it the 747 lol

first day runnung..opps

and the videos...nonthing speical yet...took it to the dyno....made 230rwhp its a tfs combo that should be seeing around 330+

first time starting dont mind the chick..its his sister

Starting up my race car for the first time. 306ci SBF.

running really ruff...jets int he carb were WAYYY to small...we rebuilt the carb and havvent tooken it back to the dyno yet.

dont mind chris either he talks alot and makes him self sound stupid. but he has a nice mustang to make up for it

Running my race car

and heres a dyno vid...theres an xr7 after words too if you keep watching.

Running my race car

the sound is great though

Why ditch the 3.8L SC motor for a V8? I would think the lighter V6 would offer the car better balance for AutoXing than a heavy V8. Those SC motors can be built up with some nice numbers

Neat car. Would look better with a stock spoiler though. Also a 306 with a TFS kit should not be seeing 330+, you should be happy with 280-320.

while in the hatchback it made a little over 340rwhp. ported heads ported intake and a few little things.

we were hoping to see at least 280 before we tuned it.

it was blown up, and the class he wants to run in the 3.8 would not be able to keep up in.

yes they can be built up good and stong but that takes money and he was wanting a 5.0 race car.
