I read the SCCA rulebook but still don't quite get it, (Okay, so I'm a little slow  ).

My '90 will eventually be in the CP class, but I'll need to be in ESP for a year or two due to the budget. In ESP can I have:

Carbon fiber hood? Yes, there is one for the '90.
Racing seats?
Stripped interior?
Battery in trunk?
SFCs?
PHB?
T/A?
THis class does allow aftermarket intakes and headers, but no engine mods like heads, cam, stroker kits, etc. Correct?

I have my opinions about each but I'm looking for clarification. Thanks :hail2:

I run ESP now. No SFC You (can use SFC that come off of a mustang convertible) , Seats are OK, If the Hood is an orginal mustang part its OK (no aftermarket). I believe you can strip the interior and relocate the battery-no for sure.

You can modify the suspension and stay in ESP(no 3 point + front strut bar, 2 point is OK), but if you went aftermarket brakes, you will move up in class (SM). It depends on your region, most rules are the same across the board, but some regions allow different mods. National Competetion of course will change. You can search Google for your regional rules.

What is PHB??

A panhard bar is very necessary in a Mustang. Attaches the differential to the chassis to reduce/eliminate lateral movement. It's been said that the lateral motion can equal 2".

You say to run in ESP you:

Cannot use SFCs
Racing seats are OK
No aftermarket hoods.
Anyone else know? If it's not specifically mentioned in the rulebook, does that mean it can't be used???

For the 2004 rulebook go to http://www.scca.org/news/index.html#comp_regs
