auto's and superchargers

What are the differance's in the way a supercharger would proform and run on a stang with a auto tranny. would it mess with the boost? would it run exactly like it would with a stick? also how much power would be lost with the auto,% wise?

If it makes and differance it would be eather a kenne bell or p1-sc(i thinks thats the one) procharger.

And what would be the better of the two superchargers, mostly street with track use about once a month.

I was wondering the same thing, I think it is 4-5% additional drivetrain loss with the automatic. (untill you install a torque multiplier). The 9 lb intercooled Kenne Bell is going to run about $6,000, whereas the Vortec 9 lb after cooler setup with battery relocation is at $4,800. I have read of people switching back to the screw type blowers after going centri, missing the low end torque, so is this worse with the auto or not as noticable ? Any imput ?

no real problems here. yes boost is bad for the OD band, but OD doesn't kick in with boost on my car until like 140mph. i'm not a top end racer, so i'll never hit it.

there isn't any reason that you shouldn't supercharge an auto vs. a manual.

I agree. No problems. I have a Vortech and am at about 330 rwhp as apposed to a similar setup with a 5 sp comes in about 360. So I would say the ratio is about the same, just based off of higher numbers.
