I've been looking at MAC and Borla, there's a few others out there for the stock rear valence. any opinions? i still need to do business on my cell phone at freeway speeds (60-80). It's an 05 Gt automatic, only other engine mod is K&N intake system.

thx!

Dear RiverRatz,

I have MACs w/an automatic and I love the sound because it is almost like the big block engine sounds of the sixties but they drone at 1500 - 2000 RPMs...

My true advice to you is that if you intend on using your cell phone at highway speeds, DO NOT BUY MACs...

I am currently looking at other exhaust systems which have the same sound quality but less drone...

My friend from one of these forums got Magnaflow Packs and he loves them. He has tried other systems as this will be his trird set, so shop wisely my friend...

Good Luck, Dave

thanks!

I had the Bassani X with cats and JBA mufflers and the highway noise was louder than stock. Belive it or not I switched to the Pypes Off road H with the JBAs and on the highway at 70 to 80 MPH there is no drone and almost no sound from the exhaust, I recommend this set up for anyone who does alot of highway travel. My wife was even amazed at how quite it was. When you get on it around town or on the highway thats a different story, Big Block Baby!!!!!!!!! Sounds like nothing else I have ever herd from a 4.6 and I have had several of them. This set up is for you. I still cant believe there is no drone or noise in the cabin on the interstate, Im impresed.

My slps with stock mid pipe dont drone at any speed up until about 90mph. Even with the lack of drone (which is amazing) these babies SCREAM at WOT. I'll never consider any other exhaust system.

I have the Borla axle backs and love them. IMO some of the best sounding mufflers on the market!

Does anybody out there have Magnaflow axlebacks? If you do, what do you think of them? How do they sound compared to stock at idle and at WOT?

Isn't there a site or post that has sound clips from most of these systems?

Are yours the Powerflo or Loudmouth? I think the Loudmouth will be too loud?

SLPs Rock

Stop messing around with the rest and get the best.....SLP Loudmouths!

I have them on my 06 GT and they sound amazing. Nothing on the market has the kickbutt sound like the Loudmouths do.

JT

Stop debating and just go buy the SLPs

well i finally ordered the slp powerflo's today. as much as i like the sound of the LM's (from 6tangs clip) it's too much for me to do business in the car, and that's life for me. so we'll see how the powerflo's go. I;ll post after the install.

I would recommend going to mustangexhaust.com. It is a great place to hear soundclips for most exhausts.
