Swapping to 31 spline posi/axles, first time ill be doing it


31 spline Axles, check
31 spline Posi, check
Track Lok rebuild kit, check
3 bottles of 75/140 fluid, check Mobil 1 Syn.

What else i need? Pumpkin gasket, and what else?
im not going to do the bearings because everything was fine when the 4.30's went in not too long ago

I see you have listed the Traclok rebuild kit. I think you meant gear installation kit, being you already bought a new 31 spline posi. The intallation kit has shims, fluid, marking compound and gaskets. Everything you need minus the dail gauge and mount. Why not just replace the axle bearings while your at it. Make it all new internally and have no worries. Bearings are no fun to do 8 months down the road, cause, you never know!

No....i bought the posi used so im rebuilding it


do they sell the rear cover gasket seperately?

You don't need a gasket, use ultra RTV silicone.

Why are you using 75w140? You should be using 75w90 or 80w90.

I agree with changing the bearings and seals now.

I'm in the middle of doing the same swap as you. I got my rear pulled and gutted, now I need to order my parts.
