Ok well after spending that last like year doing other things boot camp esc. I am back to working on my mustang I have a 3.8 like most everyone here its a 04 and I am looking at doing some serious work to it my goal 450-500HP its going to take a lot of work I know the first thing I am looking at is forged internals and new heads from SuperSixMotorSports as well as a M112 supercharger. Exhaust is already done for my car 2.5 inch pipes from headers back, so that it taken care of, how much do you guys think I should take off the heads to get myself a lot of power. What else do you guys think I should do to the car I want to put lambo doors on it eventually so is there someone you can recommend that is good for kits for the mustang. I have about a 5000$ budget for my engine and would like to get started in March!

If you want to make 450-500 HP with a 3.8, you're going to be looking at a serious investment in time and money. We're talking a custom TT setup, and you're going to do a lot of fabricating and probably break a lot of parts along the way. There are people making that kind of power on drag cars, but it's really only for bragging rights. It's just not that good of an idea to start with a V6 in this pursuit.

If you do heads and cam, Super Six advertises another 80HP or so, and with some bolt-ons you're at 300 HP for about $2000 invested. A supercharger will be about 350 HP for about $4000 invested.

This isn't going to be a show car, is it? If you weld and you can scrounge parts, people have put together single turbo setups that make some serious power. They're ugly under the hood, but they work!

just out of curiosity, why lambo doors? this isnt a lil ricer and personaly id be worried about them working correctly with that kinda power...they would need to be VERY beefy.

The reason I want to get so much power out of the car is that I want it to beat me Old Mans 4.6 on the 1/4 mile so I really just want to get it down to mid 10's to low 11's and I would be happy I am used to working on the 4.6 so I kind of know some of the numbers it will take him to get down the 1/4 mile in 11's right now he's at 12.6 at a mile high 11.8 if converted to sea level, when it comes down to it I want to beat him thats it. I don't really know the numbers that will be required though.

This is not a show car I do want it to look nice but this is going to be a 'toy' car for lack of a better word. After I get back from my next deployment I plan on purchasing a 1967 fast back and I will work that up to be my 'show car'

I don't know why but I kind of like the Lambo doors this is still and option for me I am not dead set on putting them on.
