So after being stangless for 3 years I finally picked up another one. Here she is, an '86 GT. Needs some work before I can really start having fun with it, here's some pics:

the biggest problem is the brakes, I drove it an hour home and they were so bad they were scary. Next is the exhaust, h-pipe has a nasty leak (started fixing this tonight). Bunch of little things like no reverse lights, fuel gauge not working stuff like that.

The pics make the paint look really good, but it's not. There are a bunch of imperfections in it. Interior is in tough shape too.

Car was converted to mass-air and has sub-frames, other than that it's stock. Let the fun begin!

looks like fun man. my 93 has much more rust than that, so just be glad your 86 just needs mechanical work, not body work!

It actually has one rust spot on the rocker panel behind the pass. door, but that's it. The car was originally from Cali and the guy I bought it from garaged it so it's faired pretty well.

As for plans, probably just gears and some bolt ons this summer. Eventually some heads, maybe GT-40p's or Thumper ported. I would like to get it to handle better too, I'm spoiled from driving a WRX.

OK...This is weird because I just picked up an 86 coupe and I also have a Legacy GT.

Good luck with everything. I've started on my project as well.
