Congrats on your project, I gots an 89 gt, done several things to it, tried the b cam didn't like it, neither did the car, e cam was next same thing, didn't like it, back to stock, everybodys happy.
I like the wheels too, I put black pony's on mine,
Save the factory parts you remove, specifically the air pump and related stuff, you'll be glad you did later.

Thank you. I love the 89, first year MAF. I was thinking of putting the stock parts away so I still have them. Trying to fix all the little things to make her run good, so it will be ready for mods when I decide what I'm doing lol. I did not mind the sound of the Thrush mufflers, but I wanted the Flowmasters OLD SCHOOL

My high school 89 GT had off branded "turbo" mufflers. Back then I wished I had Flowmasters, but never saved enough to buy them. I was thrilled when I bought this '89 I have now, and it has the exact turbo mufflers on it that my high school car had. The sound takes me right back.

Pics of the parts I got from trading my 306 short block.

T5 from a sn95. Going to use the input shaft and bell housing from the T5 in my car. My T5 needs a good rebuild. This is a faster fix for now. Will rebuild it later so I have a spare.

Fenderwell intake. Will be better then having the air filter in the engine bay getting hot air. Going to paint it black.

1.7 Roller tip rockers. Not sure if I'm going to put them on my motor that is in my car now.

Well summer is starting to look like its going to be on its way. I have to change the water pump. While I'm in there going to clean and paint some parts. I have a little exhaust leak by the heads. So I'm going add some shorty headers and swap out the heads with some I have. Going to also removed the smog tube and air pump. I will gasket match my stock intake to match my heads. I have a few little upgrade parts also going in. Fender well intake with C&L 73mm MAF. 65mm throttle body. Comp Cams 1.7 roller tip rockers. Have a few other parts to order. Cant wait to get started.

This is what I ordered so far. Red coolant hoses and a C&L sample tube for 19 lbs injectors.

My red silicon hoses came in. Got them from Ebay, so not sure on quality. I picked up two oxygen sensors and PVC valve to help finish the tune up I started last summer. Will just need to set base timing and TPS voltage once I done changing the water pump and things.

Did some work this afternoon. Change the sample tube in my MAF. I also clean and painted it. Nothing major but can only do so much with no parts and still lots of snow. Now have to paint the tubes for the fender well intake.
