Backlog on BFG Drag Radials/Questions

I just got off the phone with a guy from www.tirerack.com. He told me it would take 12-14 weeks to get a pair of bfg drag radials. He says there is a nationwide backlog right now. Anyone else heard this? I figured I'd check a couple other places, but I'm not sure where else to look.

Also, if it's true that I can't get the BFG's, I'm going to go ahead and order the Nitto 555R for my 15in prostars. Is there anything else I need for the wheels? I thought I heard somewhere that I need to buy special lugs/lugnuts and/or spacers??? Last but not least, it is ok to run the 15's in the rear with the 17's up front, correct? (Sorry for asking the same old questions, but I've been reading up on old threads for an hour trying to get the answers and had no luck yet. )

Thanks for the link. That's a good price.

I just spoke with a representative from BF Goodrich and he says there is NOT a backlog and that there are plenty of comp t/a drag radials available. Tirerack sucks.

Or I gobbled them up right before you got there.

My BFG's look different than those pics that are posted. Mine have the big soild strip of rubber down the middle. They are 275/50/15.

Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe they change the tread pattern a bit based on size, I know Michelin tweaks the tread on their Pilot Sports if you have a really wide version of them.

Those are also 15" versions, mine pictured are 17".

So can you guys explain backspacing to me? Is it the space between the brakes and the back of the wheel? How do I know the proper backspacing? I guess I just want to know if I can just take the stock wheels off and replace them with the welds, or do I need something else before I switch them out.

I have 27mm backspacing on my 17x10.5 bullitt replicas and they line up with the body perfectly.

Weld makes a whole bunch of sizes for their wheels. You shouldn't need any spacers or anything if you have the correct backspacing and all that stuff. I'm sure someone can chime in, or search for, the numbers that would fit.

Offset is the distance the mounting face (the part that makes contact with the hub/axle when you bolt it on) is from the center of the wheel (center when going the width of the wheel). Backspacing is the distance from the mounting face to the inside edge of the wheel.

Thanks Gino. I saw all the specs on the Weld website, but when I bought my rims I didn't realize I had to worry about all that. I just bought a pair of 15x8's and thought they'd be good.

Yep, just pull the stockers off, and put the Welds on. You won't need to switch anything else out on the rear. If you run Welds on the front, you'll need a spacer.
As far as backspacing goes, you'll need 5.5" backspacing for 15x8 Welds...6.5" BS for 15x10.
