the TKO-600 comes with a 7 tooth drive gear. Stock SN95 T-5's come with an 8 tooth.

Killercanary- what if you use the stock tremec bellhousing, do you still need to check the run out? I'm planning on a 347 hopefully and I want to get a tremec at the same time. Considering buying a used tremec actually. The mains will be align honed. What do you think? What is this DS angle you speak of? Does it change with a tremec or is it an sn95 only thing?

Concerning bellhousing runout....I just did mine a few days ago (McLeod SFI) and I zero the guage at 12 o'clock and get -0.002" at 3 o'clock, 0.001" at 6 o'clock and 0.005 at 9 o'clock. Should I adjust it?? I know the article said +-0.005", but what about this one being 0.007" at most??

EDIT:
I just noticed the Lakewood ofset dowel pins come in 3 sizes and the smallest is .007" so I really can't get it any closer. I read somewhere else that if it's within .015" it's within spec

I just got my tko 500 and notice vibration at higher speeds also... I need to check if the shop indexed my bell housing..

also in reverse, it grinds going in.

So, if your not getting any vibrations after a tko install with a mcleod scatter shield, its safe to say that its indexed fine as is? I have absolutely no vibrations, but what I do have is a howling noise. For example when it does it- say i take it to 2500rpm in 2nd and keep it in gear and let the rpm's come down on decel, it'll howl or in 5th on the hwy passing someone and giving it more gas, it howls. It does NOT do it in 4th. Any idea's? Im wondering if the scattershield transmits more noise? I gotta check the fluid level also.

Wow I have never heard of the "indexing" thing.
Does this go for stock bellhousings and T-5s?

Read up some and it seems it's only for aftermarket bells...I'm thinking

If the motor has been rebuilt, or line honed, you should check it. Since you have a 331... you should definitelt check it. More than likely you are OK, but if the tranny is out I'd check it.
