bad trunk latch or what?

Ok so my hatch doesnt close all the way and water just gets all in there so i pretty much have to be super careful when washing the car. I checked the latch looks fine or maybe its all lined up wrong cause it shuts and holds fine but threis about a 1 inch gap on the passenger side anyone know what could be the deal im confused

Straighten that car out and put subframes on it... my 89 GT was like that. Too much torque on a unibody hatch

Just a thought, check your hatch bumpers, one on each side. If one is down and the other one up, it might cause this problem. Its an easy fix if it is.

alright ill check that my doors also leak i think it may be bad weather stripping but i can tell by certain little things my car has been drag racing so over tourqueing the car without subframes i could believe. would that mess with the doors as well??

Look for a plastic sleeve around the striker behind the interior plastic by the light. If it's only metal then the plastic is missing and won't latch right. That will fix it.
