Hello everyone,
Story goes as i was in front of a friends house and getting ready to leave so i decide im guna lay out a quick burnout on my 315 nittos. Drop the clutch, tires spin for about 3 seconds then tires ehated up grabbed traction and i got wheel hop that i thought made the car fall apart. I let off asap but it was too late as i rolled off the road with a clunking noise from the rear. Got the car home via flatbed and jscked it up and the stud connecting the axle housing and gear housing broke and there is gear oil leaking out and the whole axle housing appears to be bent out from the housing if that makes sense. This car is my DD and now sits in the parking lot broken. The car will still move but everything is out of shape. Tires are running, axle is off angle etc. I think i am going to need a whoole new rear? Now for the questions?

1. Will a foxbody rear fit right up because thats alli can seem to find anywhere?
2. How hard would it be to put a 9" rear in since i need a new one anyway?
3. Do you think the rear end is repairable in the condition its in?
4. Any suggestions on where i could find the parts for it?

Thanks for any help in advance. I really appreciate it.

Dad gum.

My passenger side axle is bent ever so slightly after the same thing on my 275 Nittos. Makes a nice howl.

Getting upgraded to a cobra diff with 31spline axles - might be a route you want to look at if you want something factory that is inexpensive.

Rev her up ... Pop the Clutch

With sticky tires ... You Bet :Word:

That can do some damage

I Love 9" rears

Sure you could put one in your Stang
but
They do sap more power than our wimpy 8.8's

Since your Stang is a dd ... just quickly find a 28 axle to get up and running

Don't know if a Fox axle will fit

the axle itslef isnt broke, just the housing but i was told a fox housing would work, just need to swap all the guts into it. Since the wheels are off alignment now do u think that could be a bent countrol arm?

The housign is probably repariable...

What are your mods.. To me I would probably go this route if you have any miles on it, no gears, etc...

Sorry my bad ... I did not read your original post clearly

I'd just go for a complete rear out of a junk yard

Yes a fox rearend will work. thats what I got in my car when I bent myne.

I got a fox rearend with superior axles.

You have to drill a couple holes for the brake line bracket and grind a little so the abs sensors will fit.
