Balanced tire

I just got 1 of my wheels/tire mounted/balanced, since i had to swap it because of a nasty ding in my rim and tire. So I got a new tire and wheel, the guy said the rim i got was kind of bent so you might get vibration behind the wheel or whatever. I didnt get any vibration or anything, but I hear somewhat a howl noise in my rear end more often now. Was it balanced correctly, it drives fine but now i hear a howl noise. I did have howl noise before from gears, but not as bad only around 30 gliding, but now i hear it on the highway like 60 and up really any speed. Does this have to do with the new wheel/tire I got on with the rim being bent or whatever.

If the mechanic told you the rim was bent, why the hell did you put it on the car? You should have had it fixed or got a new rim. It's most like the rim making that noise. Differential gears will howl at certain speed ranges, if that helps you any.

How does a rim make a noise? They said its not that bad the worst thing would be vibration steering wheel or floor board. I dont have that, i dunno. omg

It may very well be the tire making the noise. In recent years I have started hearing tires howl so loud that I was sure that there were wheel bearings bad, but it would turn out to be a tire. Swap that wheel with the one on the same side in the front and see if the noise moves.

If it helps, my new BFG KDW tires howl on the highway... so maybe it is just the new rubber. If the wheel was bent, I would imagine you would get vibration..

its a bfg kwd2, i had to get a new one, my other one didnt howl or whatever that bad, maybe need break in lol. i cant swap it with the front, there 18x9 18x10 wheels with 295's in the rear.

so i guess this is normal, they didnt really howl that bad on my last kdw2 tire. I hope the passenger cant notice it, i can hear it well in the rear driving.

Well how many miles were on the original tire before you replaced it? Don't forget you have brand new treads on 1 of 4 tires, and the other 3 have been worn in. I would think that would make some noise..

I hear it more from the front than the rear. I noticed when I had my wreck that when I put on a brand new KDW on the right front it howled more than the slightly worn ones.
