Ballpark on cost of longtube install???

I wouldn't expect any exhaust shop to be able to handle this task. You really need to take it to a Mustang speed shop - and expect to pay $250+ for the labor alone. This is the cheapest I've heard...some are much, much more.

If you've got a full day and half it's something you can do in your garage. Just takes a bit of doing ... be patient, take your time and you'll have it on before you know it.
Personally, I was going to wait until I bought a tubular k-member before buying and installing the LT. One of those, while you're down there sort of things. Less weight in the front and easier to access everything with larger clearences.

What they did to mind is that they picked up one side of the time with the engine hoist and put one header on at a time. it cost me $250 for mine. Watch if you lowered your stang or you have that black square tube bracket underneathe that car. it's a pain in the ass to get installed cause most places won't install them. it took me 6 different places till I found one that would do it at all. It was well worth it, it opens the engine up better. after getting those crapy maifolds off then the engines starts to really perform.

Most 'chain' exhaust shops won't touch it..I was quoted $450.00-$600.00 for my LT install.. I have yet to get them for this reason and I am not mechanically proficient enough to try it myself..So, when I do, it's going to a shop.. Prewitt Racing..

I got the instructions for SLP's long tube install with my x pipe and they say its an 8hr+ job, and that would be for somebody who knows what they are doing.

#1 - the header job isn't that big of a deal, it's just time consuming.
#2 - i've seen it done in 2 hours before. it was a guy that was very good & he had a lift. if it's in your garage with jacks, it should be about a 8-10 job tops.
#3 - the easiest way to do it, is drop the k-member. you don't need to jack up the engine, you just need to support it when you drop the k-mmeber (obviously)
#4 - shorty header install, should be exactly the same as a lt's install. price wise & procedure wise.
A car is nothing but nuts & bolts, don't be scared of doing it. just make sure you have plenty of of time & don't get rushed if you are doing it for the first time

I ended up paying 640 but that included the o2 sensor extensions and everything!
