Finally had the stainless SC Bassani put on. It sounds awesome without the silencing inserts. No noise in the car, but very mean behind the car. About 100 times better than the cheap flows I had last time. Very distinct and agressive sounding!! Midpipe to come next. My 96 has 6 cats!!!!! Whats up with all the convertors. How much power do they rob me of???

Did the bassani fit better than the flows? Did you have a catback or just weld ins? I have the flowmaster cat back, and I'm kinda happy with the sound (not loud enough, I like the tone though), but the fit is terrible.

About the cats, I'm sure its somewhat significant...the cats are a big reason why midpipes give decent gains.

Glad to hear it!
I've got Flows and I think I'm ready for Bassani now.
I'm getting tired of the interior noise.
2 questions....
1. Is there really no noise in the car????
2. How does the sound compare to Flows outside the car?

I know for a fact that at least two are resonators. the four cats is proably cali car?

bassani sounds so much better than flows.

Midepipe will give ~7-10hp. I felt my midpipe more than the catback.

I would personally skip the bassani midpipe and look at vrs or magnaflow. Look at some pics online you will see what I am talking about. the bassani has a bit different design not what I would call a true x. dr. gas is supposed to be the best but it is not stainless.

I went VRS because that was the cheapest stainless midepipe at the time. $250 to my door. I can vouch for the power but I am sure magnaflow is just as good it was just more money.

If you think the car sounds good now wait till the midpipe goes on. you will have a woody.

Is it loud enough? I'm looking at that catback and want a loud setup. Also, could u possibly post a video/sound clip?

Well, its about three times as loud as stock, but a good loud. Just meaner with no resonating in the cabin. When you let off the gas, the sound goes away immediately....kinda cool. You will love the new sound compared to anything you have had before....thus $700 retail for these. I paid 350 delivered on ebay. You will want a bassani mid pipe once your ears here their exotic exhaust note. The guys at Midas muffler were like "what is this brand"??? After they installed it and revved it hard, they both had big goofy grins on their face! The tips are nice with bassani engraved in each one. Lastly, they come with silencing inserts for long trips, or to detune the sound if you get it too loud with a mid, or offroad pipe. Im getting the catted mid pipe next for sure....... Just a great system overall!

Damn, you guys think flows are too loud and have the stock h pipe? Wow, I thought they were too quiet with the stock pipe.

This will sound stupid but I think it varys from car to car. I had flows welded in on my 02 GT and it was still pretty quite, even after a decient break-in period.

The previous owner of my Bullitt put some weld-in flows on the car and it's much louder than my 02 was. Crazy huh?
