I need to know if any one knows of a good strong battery around the same size as the group 58... I have limited room... my problem is that if the battery isn't fresh I can't start the car with out jumping it, with the ignition and secondary fuel pump one gets robbed... I need a high cca battery any ideas?

thanks,
simon

Thanks for the reply ... did you get it off of the internet? I will look and see what I can find... I noticed today that it is my fuel pump getting robbed... as you crank the fuel pressure drops.. Put a jumper on it and it fires up.... I am tring to get it a little more reliable since I must take it to emissions and I took me a long time to get the tune right, but It will pass now the only problem is they are going to have me turn the car off before they start the test... and there is the problem... I will look into that battery thanks...

Sounds like you have another issue. Sounds like a charging issue, upgrading to a stronger battery will only prolong the time in between charging the battery and it dieing on you again.

I am almost positive the battery in a Honda Odyssey no matter what year should be a 24 group size, with reverse terminals. The 24 group size battery should have slightly more cranking amps than the stock 58 and is also a much taller and thinner battery, you may not be able to use the factory hold down. If you really want to upgrade you should just go for an optima and be done with it, I have one and it feels like they live forever, Its been sitting in my garage for years, anytime I want to use it I just give it a charge and go. At work I just had someone drop off a dead optima that he purchased in 2002. They make a 25 and 34 group size optima, the 34 is a little bigger but I think is a better fit.

THOUGH I dont think this should be the solution to your problem. We may need some more info about your car. What does this mean?

with the ignition and secondary fuel pump one gets robbed...

Mob.. you are a little mixed up... it is not a battery for a Honda Odyssey ... Odyssey is the brand of battery... anyone know what size would work best?? and it isn't a charging problem.... the car is far far from stock and tends to sit for long periods of time in between running it... the stock size 58 battery just does not have enough cca to run the two fuel pumps or the hi6 with a ps91 coil, here is a slight detail of the car.. 92 mustang lx dss 306, 185 afr heads, B-41 cam, edlbrock upper and lower, 60lb injectors, Pro-M 3" protube universal mass airflow, 70mm throttle body, ati procharger 14lbs of boost, huge intercooler, crane hi6, ps91 coil, tweecer rt, lm-1 wideband o2, shorty 1 5/8 headers, x pipe, fluidyne radiator, flow masters, 6pt. cage, subframe connectors, camber caster plates, 2 inch drop with progressive springs.. thats about all I can think of right now..

Correct, Odyssey is the Brand. I used the 1200 Series, it has a Steel Jacket Case.

shakerhood... I was looking at the odyssey 1200 series... pc1200t.... and a couple others... they looked as if you need special cable ends... do you?? it is kind of hard to tell if the stock end cables will fit these batteries... the first on I listed looked as if hey might but the terminals on the battery looked very short and like a wrench would fit on them.. of course they may just look short in the pictrure..

simon

58 is close to 59, 35, 47, 90. where the terminals are i forget lol.

Besides the 58 is one of the more cheaper batteries on the market. just look at getting another one. i know at autozone their cheapo battery is 49.99. the duralast is around 74.99 and the Gold duralast which is strongest in CA is 84.99 something like that.

No you dont need anything special, you can see it is a little smaller than stock size and it has quite a punch.

shakerhood, Yep that helps a lot.. I will order one this weekend... so I can get that beast up and running again... then I have to order the quarterhorse... I am going to try that out... I like the tweecer, but have heard and seen that you can make live changes with the quarterhorse , where with the tweecer you have to turn the car off and write to the tweecer... my tune is pretty good now, I do need to work on the idle a bit when it comes back down to idle it bounces one time till it idles instead of dropping straight down to the desired idle... but that is a whole other story LOL... thanks again for all of your help

shakerhood.... I got the battery today... I probably won't be able to install it till saturday then I will go take my emissions test... that must be a good bat.. as small as it is and as much as it weighs... thanks for all the help ... I think this will solve all my starting problems... :nice:
