FYI, the competitors to the BBK intake are the Performer, TFS Street intake, Cobra, and GT40. The intake is designed to be used up to 5500rpm.
Also, the intake used in the test is a pre-production unit. So the casting and fit issues with it are not what will be seen in the final version. Even the color will be different.
The intake has been delayed several months from the initial release date to fix issues with fuel lines, regulator placement, and so on. The piece used for the test didn't even have the CNC machine work performed in the runners.
The test was performed on the Cobra because that is the test car being used for all the fitament issues. It is a BBK employee's car. I don't think any of you would want to give up your car for as long as they have been working on this (5+ months). This is the car they had to work with. The mods were done well before the intake was developed. If you can't understand that, then I don't know what to tell you.
I'm sure there will be other tests performed with this intake against other intakes once the final version is released.
