yeah 7 quarts is definitely better than 5. sweet, sounds like you're going to have a pretty bullet proof valve train after this. and yeah it sounds like the guy before you bought all comp products. the rockers might be 1.6's though. and are they the full roller pro magnums or just the magnums which are roller rip with a non roller fulcrum? either one is good, hopefully the pro mags though!

So you're saying they're probably 1.6s. My buddy says they look like 1.7s, and he's seen about 3,456,987,234 sets of rocker arms in his day.

But he hasn't found any numbers on them yet. I'll keep ya posted.

Dude, I don't think my rocker arms would be knocking on my valve covers if they were 1.6s, so I'm going to put my money on the fact that they're 1.7s.

Apparently Strype gives it the thumbs up, so maybe it's not THAT bad.

Anyway, I went with the Cobra just to be safe.

Well.....the numbers are in.

There will be no need to replace ANY valvetrain components, b/c the previous owner took it upon himself to ensure there would be no short-changing of money spent on it.

I already have the Comp Pro Magnum 1.7 rr's, so I'm waiting on my Cobra valve covers to arrive which will give them room to move instead of constantly knocking on the stock valve covers.

My springs are aftermarket and are in perfect shape, along with the rods and lifters. That, my friends, will keep a few bills in my pocket instead of in Summit Racing's.

The only thing I don't remember is which Competition cam I have. I'm not sure if it's the B-cam or the E-cam. It could've been the X-cam for all I know.

All I remember is that he told me it was the "big" one.

Anyway, I've added my new surprises to my signature, I'm just waiting on the cam verification. For now, I will assume it's the B-cam. I think that one is the bigger one if I remember correctly.

actually the letter cams (b303, e303, f303, x303, z303) are ford racing cams. i put them in "size" order too. that's cool that you already have all that stuff. saving money is always nice.

Well then I'll definitely have to call him and verify. It is a COMP cam so maybe I heard the numbers wrong.

i put them in order of lowest lift to highest. The E cam has more lift, but less duration than the B cam. that's why i put the parenthesis around "size". lol

Alright! Just got my 7 quart Moroso oil pan in, so that's everything.

By the way, +1 for Summit.

Anyway, my guy says that I probably do have a Ford Racing cam, so now I'm really confused. He says that Comp cams have the numbers up on the front of the cam, and there's no numbers on the front of mine. He believes it's the B303, but I'm still waiting on that.

On the otherhand, it'll probably be another week before it's all put back together b/c he's started on another car already while waiting for my parts to arrive.

But, it matters zero to me as long as it's done right.

COMING SOON: Cobra intake (ported lower), Cobra valve covers, Ford Racing mini-starter, Moroso 7 quart oil pan

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

If I found a decent used BBK at a good price I would get it, no way I would pay over 600 for one though. I love the way they look

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
