A couple of updates from the family Christmas dinners... yep, two of 'em!

My cousin offered me a Rhinegiest Truth IPA. I'm not a big fan of IPA's in-general, but this one was okay. I would not pass on it for free.

Truth - Rhinegeist Brewery

Truth is our flagship IPA. Featuring a hop quartet of Citra, Centinnial, Simcoe and Amirllo with a clean, crisp finish and West Coast sizzle.
rhinegeist.com

On the other hand... Same cousin gave me a 12-pack of Jai Alai IPA as a gift. "It's really popular right now." (I noticed he didn't have any in his cooler...)
Nope, sorry, this is why I don't like IPA's.

Jai Alai IPA by Cigar City Brewing

Jai Alai IPA is a bold, citrusy and balanced India Pale Ale that involves six different hop varietals used generously in a 7.5% ABV beer.

So, anyone near Dayton, OH would like some IPA's?

Watching Barrett Jackson tonight... opened up a Christmas gift. This beer has a different taste and is real good!! Can definitely taste the peppers, but just the right amount!

I like IPAs. That IPA is not a very good one.

Ok, I tried a new Imperial Stout from a local brewer here in Tulsa.

It‘s 8.5abv.

Really, not something to shout about. I can taste the wood from the barrel it was aged in. Maybe a slight scotch flavor to it? IDK.

It doesn’t have the flavor of an Imperial Stout to me, but what do I know I guess.

I want to support our local brewers, and I usually like Marshall Brewery products. This is just an overpriced ok beer to me.

Looks like a port barrel? Not the best choice for a stout. Again. Prairie. . . .

So, my favorite liquor store is out of my go to (Founder’s Dirty Bastard).

I like it a lot, but not enough to travel in the rain tonight. So I decided to try Flying Dog’s Gonzo.

This is the first Imperial Porter I remember trying.

Deep into my second one after work, I got to say I like it a lot.

9.2abv. Very similar to an Imperial Stout, just not as cloying.

I got a feeling I’ll end up buying out the liquor store’s stock.

It's been a little while for me! I've had some brews here and there since last time but it's mostly been my typical go-to beers.

This weekend saw another dinner party with our usual friends, the first in several months and the first since my girlfriend and I moved into the new house. I bought a sixer of Cold Snap to have on hand for our guests but one of them brought a Blue Moon sampler to the party. There were only 3 flavors in it: the regular, a Mango Wheat, and an Iced Coffee Blonde. I'd had the regular of course, and the Mango from a previous sampler, but the Iced Coffee Blonde was new to me and though I'm not a coffee drinker whatsoever, I was intrigued by this offering.

It was pretty good! The coffee flavor was not overwhelming at all. I enjoyed it and between the two beer drinkers that were present, we killed those right off the bat.

I wouldn't mind drinking it again.

Non beer. Bib and Tucker bourbon.

Moderately priced, excellent whiskey. I paid about $55 for this bottle.

This is one of the best flavored bourbons i’ve had. I will buy this again.

Kind of a neat bottle.

This has been my go-to as of late. A friend from my last job drank it and got me started on it.

It has all the smoothness and "drinkability" of a light beer or Dos Equis, and the full flavor of a bock at the same time. Great cheap beer from Mexico that I really enjoy.

Picked this up yesterday at a local brewery.

Really good! Strong, sweet, thick, lots of chocolate.

^ I'll have to look for that one!

My "standby" these days is Budweiser Copper Lager, aged with slats from Jim Beam barrels. Not very expensive, good flavor, and won't kick your butt after just one or two.

And this....

Good if you like this style. Sour with a hint of cinnamon and hops.

This is an easy one, but bonus points if you know the guy in the background.

My ex-girlfriend was a beer snob, this was my absolute favorite local brew she got me to try. Goes GREAT with pizza from 900 Degrees.

Bridge St. Wit - Brotherwell Brewing - Untappd

Bridge St. Wit by Brotherwell Brewing is a Wheat Beer - Witbier which has a rating of 3.7 out of 5, with 766 ratings and reviews on Untappd.

( @LaserSVT If you haven't tried that beer or 900 Degrees Pizza yet, get yer ass over there and try both!)

Had this at a local craft beer bar tonight! IPA’s and my favorite hockey team.... can’t go wrong! It has enough hops to give it some taste, but easy enough where you can have a few.

Something different for me. It mentioned tequila on the bottle, so I had no choice but try it.

Here’s the back label to tell you it’s story.

The lime flavor stands out fairly strong, So does the tequila flavor. It’s almost hard to tell I’m drinking a beer.

It‘s good though, not sure what I think yet. I’ll have a second one, I’ll probably really like it a lot by then.

EDIT: I popped the second one and added a couple shakes from the salt shaker. Just what it needed!

Yep, that's different... I'll have to see if I can get one of those in a "build a 6-pack" cooler at my stores.
10% abv?! Whooo, that would make sleep well.

I'm usually a beer or bourbon guy...

The Sexton Whiskey

This whiskey changed that.

Of all of the whiskeys I've tried over the years, this is my favorite.
