I love the original Stone IPA. West coast.... all hops, no fruit!
Ive come to appreciate the fruity east coast IPA’s, but Stone was my first favorite!
And that’s a pretty cool picture you took there!

Agreed. I can deal with a mild suggestion of fruit, as long as the finish has something to counter it. Thanks man! Night sight on the Pixel 5, unedited. But I take full credit for seeing & capturing the moment. Lol

I bought a bottle of the Knob Creek 9-yr-old. To be honest, the taste is kind of harsh, not my favorite. It's also pretty strong. It reminds me of some of the "blended" types of Scotch I've sampled in the past, didn't care for them either. It's a bit nicer to drink with just a dash of water or a small ice-cube melted in it.
On hot summer days I like to have a plain ol' Bud Light. It's even better with a shot of ol' #9 in it!

Definitely not a beer for Ronin here... Nor me, to be honest...

Fruit Ale from Calvert Brewing. Though it isn't called a sour ale, it does have tart cherries and peach in it and the tart cherries definitely make it sour.

I guess I wasn't expecting it to be as sour as it is, but this one is not for me.

Local brewers returned to normalcy and put and end to their Covid deliveries. As a result i now have to drive an hour to pick up my favorite beers

Been doing a lot of BBQ's and pool parties lately, so lots of mixed drinks and shots. I really need to restock my beer fridge.

I'm making a beer can chicken for dinner tomorrow and figured I'd go with a basic beer. Whats more basic than this?

Its from DuClaw brewing and its actually pretty good. It is what it says it is too...regular ol' beer.

I also picked up a 4 pack of Schofenhofer grapefruit hefeweizen. I've had it before and its pretty refreshing on a hot summer day. And I don't even like grapefruit.

I remember generic beer when the stores went through the white and black label fad last century. I hope this is not leftover from then.

Ha ha, no, not quite fortunately. Though the clerk at the liquor store was telling me that DuClaw ran out of their own cans and had to source cans from other local breweries. These cans were going to be an IPA for Jailbreak Brewing.

My buddy brought some of this over because i comented about having bought 3 Buffalo Trace Bourbons in a row and liking it.
This is pre barrel / full barrel strength.
Lots of flavors going on but white lighting strong at at the ass kicking 125proof.

Drink some and have to take a nap liquor for sure.
But is kind of fun, glad the bottle is small though.

No beer, but the missus added to my beer glass "collection"....

I had it posted in the other thread in the Squeaky Wheel, but she went down to Florida for a few days for her Bachelorette trip and their first night there, they went to dinner at the Ford's Garage nearby "in my honor." She brought me back a glass from there.

Samuel Adams Oktoberfest is back!

Because it's the beginning of August... so why wouldn't it be?
This means, of course, that you won't be able to buy any in October, because Winterfest will be on the shelves by then.

I went in to a Total Wine & More yesterday for the first time. Fiance was looking for mini bottles of sparkling wine for her upcoming bridal shower, so I went to peruse the beer section.

Man that place is amazing. Its like an alcohol superstore! They had about 4 full aisles of beer, half of one was just singles...though I felt like they could've done better for selection. For example, they only had the Boston Lager and seasonal for Sam Adams. But there were lots of other brews I'd never seen.

Also had entire aisles for each type of liquor...rum, Whiskey, gin, etc.

I did leave with a 6-pack assortment. Four Festbiers of different brands and 2 hefeweizens.
