Beers Of Stangnet

Found this tonight as I was shopping for the Christmas meal.

Smells like mash. Tastes like mash. Does not taste like beer, so, for me it is an improvement.

Does seem to lie about alcohol content. Says 8% by volume....... My son complains that if it is t at least 13% I won't notice it. I believe he is correct.

Taste is good though. I will recommend it.

Smells like mash? As in cereal?

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is one of my favorites! :nice:
About that... Mum and I went to BJ's Brewhouse on time last summer for lunch, I drove. I usually get one of their own brews, but this time I got a KBBA.
I was hungry and thirsty, and drank one faster than usual and... nothing. hhhmmm... I've had this before and it's fairly strong, for my taste. OK, fine, I'll have another! (Refrained from breaking the glass by throwing it down on the floor.)
Okaaayyyy... Sho MumZie hAd two drev me kaR hommme. :kmcoff:

I apologize, I am here in the Bourbon Capital of the world. Mash is a stage of the process in the making of Bourbon. It smells like that stage.

No, you're good. Mash is part of the brewing process as well. When all of the grain (most likely malted barley) is steeped with water. It smells like cereal, in a good way. I think maybe the flavor you're looking for is "bready?"

Finally got my hands on some Sam Adams Winter Lager, just in time for Christmas.

Saw the store had a "Game Day" sampler pack too with a new brew in it, Alpine Ale. Will have to seek that out again when I kick this Winter Lager.

Edit: the Winter Lager seems different this year. A bit more citrus to it.

This brew just dropped locally...

It's a stout from Calvert Brewing brewed in conjunction with a local "gourmet" donut shop, similar to Duck Donuts.

It pours on the thicker side and it just tastes like a stout. Not really picking up on any sweet element in there.

Edit: finished the first one. About halfway through, I started picking up on some sweetness. Its also pretty heavy, I would definitely categorize this as a "dessert beer."

I'd seen this beer everywhere since.... well... forever. I'd always dismissed it as "just another nasty Budweiser product, no need to try it".

A couple weeks ago a friend and I were talking beer, and he insisted I should try it because it was similar to another beer I liked but "better".

I figured there was no way in hell it was good, much less better than the other big-name mass-produced beers out there... and I was dead wrong. This has become my go-to cheap beer. It's smooth, it has flavor, and it really is one of the best cheap lagers you're going to find.

I would get thus when I first became legal. It wasn't bad...I liked the commercials with the penguins. Dooby dooby doo...

And now for something completely different...

I had one of these at a restaurant the other day. Must Find More! :D

I can taste the flavors of raspberry and chocolate, but they're not overpowering nor leave an unpleasant after-taste. Smooth n' Tasty- Recommended! :nice:

Also a local brewery Lock 27 of Dayton, OH. I bought a 6-pack of cans of their "Keifaber Street Red Ale." Could not find any pictures of it...
A good Irish Red, smooth and tasty. Will buy again! :)

Oh... and WHY am I up at 3 am?!?! :fuss:
