Before it was a car, what did the word 'Camaro' mean?

i always though "chevette" was goofy.

I thought mustang was for the WWII fighter, an some how it transitioned to the horse when it was time to market it. thought i saw that on american muscle car.

I've always wanted a car company to make a model called the Vamp, Vampire, or Vampyr.

It would be beautiful to look at and to hear, have a black exterior with a porno red interior (think Dracula's cape), and it would slowly and seductively, yet painlessly drain your wallet from fuel and maintenance/upgrade costs.

The funniest car name I've heard lately is Ford's Ka (sort of like a shrunken Focus, sold in Europe and Mexico and everywhere else EXCEPT here). It's funny, because Ka is how the British and Australians pronounce "car." So, I suppose if they ever get around to releasing it here, they should just call it the Ford Car.

If I ever get rich and powerful enough to start my own motor company, I'm not going to give my models stupid names. I'll just call them The Sedan, The Coupe, The Convertible, The Truck, The POS, etc. ...

I always thought Camaro meant Catfish...

I love the name "Marauder".

Camaro- Indian name for the type of horse an Indian warrior would use that has chrome plated horse shoes, is jacked up in the back, farts a horrible sound, and cant compete with other horses in a race, namely to "Mustangs"
