Before you buy from MHS read this

at this point, this thread should be disregarded...

yeah, nick missed a serious mistake in one set of heads... so did the guy who did the machining. guess what, some people win the lottery. the only complaint i have ever heard about mhs, and this is the same complaint i had as well, was that the turn around time is not quick enough. i waited 2 months to get my stage 1 blower cams ground, degree'd, and shipped to me. (and again, it was more bullitts fault than mhs's).

sometimes stuff gets missed. one mistake in 1000 is not worth bashing a small company on multiple forums. obviously the OP had his problems, and it appears that mhs tried to fix it.

i will criticize mhs for the fact that nick has not hired any one to help. he could turn more product and make more money with some dedicated workers... but i respect the fact the nick is the only one doing the porting / polishing head work at the shop. that is true quality control, and im sure that stuff like this (outsourcing machine work) just re-enforces his dislike for hiring people to do what needs to be done.

i have MHS cams. I did not like the wait, i think it was crappy it took so long for them to get here..... however..... I am very happy with the results. When i finally build my shortblock and go with TFS heads, and need a custom set of stage 4 twinscrew happy blower cams that are TFS specific.... do you know who i am going to call??? MHS. I already know that I will be waiting for my **** to arrive, but I know that I will not have to worry about stuffing a valve in to my brand new forged pistons.

I have learned that most of the time, the best things in life are worth waiting for. It may take MHS some time to get their product out, but 99 percent of the time the customer is happy in the long run. Would you rather spend 30 min and $20 on a h00ker and get a gift that keeps on giving , or spend $500 (or more) on taking a hot nice girl on a few dates and get at least a month of disease free fun....

unfortunately in this case, the op paid the $500 and a couple weeks worth of dates to draw the short straw and the hot nice girl had a disease she did not know about.

**** happens sometimes...

Epic...

I guess the "nutt huggers" forgot that part.
They also forgot that Nick sent out crap heads!

And everyone else keeps forgetting that the engine builder didn't package the heads correctly. If they would have gotten to Nick in the correct shape, I doubt these threads would have existed, because Nick would have fixed it at no cost to the original buyer.

LOL.................Just shows you've never worked on 4V heads

Never said or implied that I have. For reference, here's the quote I'm talking about. Take it FWIW.

SVTPerformance is REALLY laying it on Nick, even resorting to personal attacks. It really is a shame how people (many of which have never dealt with MHS or Nick) with only a bits and pieces of information ona situation can really hurt the reputation of a business via the internet.

It really doesn't surprise me though, seeing as 98% of the members on SVTP are douchebag morons.

How do you KNOW the engine builder didn't package them correctly? Do you honestly think L&M don't know how to package heads? Give me a fuggin break!

Nice work Nick!
Because of your poor workmanship, Jake is out more money.

Receive heads form Modular Head Shop, visual inspection conducted - sanded cam journals forced further investigation - $90
Vacuum leak check 32 valves w/ springs - ALL leak to some degree - remove 4 springs to test actual leakage, severe leaks - $120

usually you and I don't see eye to eye, but I couldn't agree more. With this entire post. I swear the worst keyboard warriors exist on svtp. They get off on cyber attacking people. Doesn't help a majority of the regulars are current or ex military and take the offensive attack position so frequently. There is a reason I have a whopping 30 posts over there.
