been a while and thought id post an update.

so the merkur i bought i ended up selling it for cash cause i got laid off in Oct. needed money for the SVO engine I needed to finish paying the guy i bought from. Anyway I got the engine back from my cousin all nice and freshly painted. I just got a new cam so havnt uploaded the pics ( damn cables ). I got all the front end clip to put the rest of the car togetherafter last springs auto-x crash i took. Anyone have a good place to get either a rebuild kit with piston for the rear calipers? (right rear caliper seized which caused the crash...) or should i just buy new ones? any good sources people used? other then that all i need is the right side rocker panel that connects to the spats and a left window wiper arm. anyway my question is this whats the best way to strip and reprime the front fascia and the fenders and hood? I heard lots of good things about stripping chems and such. but thought id ask whats everones favorite way.

thanx

i cant remember what happend to your car exactly, I remember the crash, but i didnt think it was that serious.. How long has it been off the road? As for your brakes, i would replace them, Rebuilding is fine if you can machine them, but most people cant and you will just lose your seal again after a while, I dont think New or remanufactored ones cost all that much. For the wiper arm, i would get 2 new ones from 50resto.com so they match, i did it a year or so ago and it makes my wipers work much better. As for stripping, i would scuff up and sand before i would strip. the bumper is plastic and its hard telling how the stripper will affect it. I have heard of plastic parts soaking up the stripper and releasing it over time after the car is painted causing bubbles and other nasty stuff.
