Best brakes kit for 2002 GT??

Old pics of mine...

Exact same as what i ordered. Can't wait..... :D

Another question though... The calipers come painted red. I want to paint them black. Should i remove the original red paint or just paint over the red????

And if i have to remove the red paint, what is the best thing to use???

Sorry to bring this thread back to life... but i received my Bullitt calipers and 13" cross drilled and slotted rotors with stainless steel brake lines

Now it was mentioned to sand down the red paint prior to painting. Do you mean sand all the red paint off or just enough to make a rough surface??

Then you stated use the red paint as a primer? So just paint right over the red???

Sorry for the questions.. Just don't want to screw up a set of new calipers...

Why not leave them as is? if you wanted black, the mach 1 and cobra calipers come painted black.

If you use the duplicolor brush on kit, just paint over the red. I painted over the black in on my mach calipers and it's held up fine for 5 years. Just prep by wiping down with alcohol first

nah just sand it enough to rough up the surface and you'll be good to go :nice:

i actually painted over the letter on my calipers, then after the paint was dry to the touch i took my fingernail to the letters and scraped off the paint to them..im sure you can do that the same to the mustang on yours..if that made any sense?

Well the Mach 1 kits are no longer manufactured and I did not want the "Cobra" on the caliper. Not trying to make a faux cobra or anything. I have the Duplicolor black brush kit.

Night Shifter, they came out clean by peeling it with your finger nail??? I was trying to find a mustang sticker or something to keep the pony emblem after painting. Knowing me I would screw up if I just peeled the paint.

So I should have a nice weekend project, just still waiting for all the rear brake parts to come in though.....
