The car was actually new. The movie was made in '68.

Not really a car chase but what about Born To Run (sweet Boss Mustang), The Wraith, Catch Me If You Can (Not the Leo Decaprio version), Highway Men, Bad Boys II, Eat My Dust, Last Ride (new GTO), and Last American Hero (anoughter Mustang).

Ahhh yes, one of the gems of the 80's. They don't make kick ass comedy/adventure flicks like that anymore.

Original Gone in 60 Seconds!!!

"Shoulda read my horiscope this morning"

A very long chase scene with a Mustang as the lead car! Works for me.

Blues Brothers. Hands down the best (most cars wrecked too, I would think).

Coolest I'd say is Blues Brothers...but I just love that whole movie.

Most exciting, I'd say Ronin.

Why are there no police?
Why does McQueen go on to wreck his car after he seemingly comes out of the car chase unscathed?
Is that the Charger's horn, or is it some weird melodramatic music playing once the Charger is up in flames?
Does McQueen just leave his car in the ditch (the rest of the movie shows him bumming rides and never references the fate of the Mustang)?
If the Mustang was only a few years old when that movie was filmed, why are it's tail pipes all rusty?

Wow ... nobody's mentioned "Deathproof," yet?

My picks, in no particular order:

Deathproof
Death Race (remake, not so much the original)
Original Gone in 60 Seconds
Ronin
All of the BMW Films with Clive Owen
The Road Warrior (until they wrecked the Interceptor... )

Deathproof is fantastic, actually. A car chase that goes on for like 30 minutes, a whole fleet of hot women, and a horror movie that actually has a happy ending (for the good guys). I did enjoy that movie.

Did anyone see that in theaters when it was "Grindhouse" and was double featured with Planet Terror? There was some twisted **** in there, but damn good entertainment.

You really need to go out and get yourself some female "strange" and get this out of your system. DW is going to start feeling inadequate soon.

Too late. I already envy the things she's expressed a willingness to do to both Michael Sheen (Lucian in the "Underworld" movies) and Rhona Mitra. Alas, I am only a mere mortal fit only to fix stuff on her cars and occasionally touch her bewbies.
