Thanks. The cleaner we use is pretty strong, it doubles as a paint remover, so it's pretty strong. BG products, I dont' think it is privatly sold. Works great though. Yes, tranny fluid works great also, and it can clogg the O2's also just like an engine that burbs a lot of oil. Tranny fluid is oil, but with additives, many cleaning agents.

Thats what I figured, it would cause a buildup of junk on the O2's. Prolly does the same to your valves. Seafoam or water or the carb cleaner are prolly the best options.

GM sells a chemical called top engine cleaner. A cadillac mechanic friend told me about this because caddies are really sensitive to carbon buildup. Works the way people have described sea foam.

Running water (small drizzle or mist only!) into the intake while the car is running will clean the pistons. Not sure how long it takes to do that, but a blown head gasket will reveal a spotless piston and cylinder head.
