Best Edelbrock Intake??

So this is for a carbureted intake?

If I were you, right off the bat I'd forget about the Torker II, that was one overall design by Edelbrock that never impressed anyone and under performs.

I can't tell you whether you'll have hood clearance problems with the Victor Jr. or not, but if you check out Edelbrock's website they give measurements for each of their intakes, so you could measure to find out if you have the room necessary. The Victor Jr. is a great intake for the strip, and if you will be doing more strip driving than street, that would probably be the way to go. It's a single plane, and will make more power up top (above, say, 4500-5000rpm) than any of Edelbrock's dual plane intakes.

However, if you are going to do more, or at least as much, street driving as you will strip, than I would highly recommend the Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake. It's a dual plane, and will kill the Victor Jr. in power numbers up to around 4500-5000rpm, and it's power band is 1500-6500rpm, right where you are going to be. It's got material removed between the intake runners, carb plenum, and the lifter valley to keep the incoming air cooler. I run one of these on my 289, and it is probably the best available dual plane intake for a high performance motor with a single carb.

I have been asking myself the same question. Do I want to switch to a Vic jr? BTW for a dual Plane intake I recomend the Wiend Stealth. Its what I am running currently and with my nitrous and a set of Holley systemax II heads (165cc runners) I ran 11.5's. I want more but I'm not sure if sacrificing all the torque down low that is so much fun around town is worth it.

If you want to have to fiddle with your carb all the time go with holley. The edelbrock carb is a much nicer user friendly plug and play piece. I have a holley 750 on mine and it runs a bit rich. I don't mind that though because of the juice i run at the track.

You "should not" have any clearance issues with the Air-Gap, it is not that much taller than a regular Performer RPM.
