Hi all looking at getting some cylinder heads. If you have put heads on a stock block 5.0 please chime in...
What did you get, are you happy? Bang for the buck or just awesome? Dont matter. GO!!

a set of trick flow's fast as cast heads are always a good choice. the twisted wedge 170's or 192's have attain excellent flow numbers for a lower horse sbf. they'll keep the bottom end happy and full of power. cheap too!

Twisted wedges or afr 165s

Twisted wedge have 2.02 valves but will work from what I understand. Have any idea the difference power wise between the two? AFRs are pretty pricey.

All depends on supporting parts. Both will make 300rwhp+ with decent parts, with higher end cam and intake it could go as high as 350rwhp.

I’m running the AFR 165s on a stock bottom end. Both are going to make about the same power.

I’m running TFS170 on a stock bottom end and using a custom grind cam. Clearance is tight but it works. Havent run engine yet though

Do yiu have to have custom with those? I want to buy an n41 from anderson. I was also looking into RHC heads. Anyone heard anything about them?

Never heard of RHC but I built a set on their site and it came out to $1600 for a pair assembled. You can get AFRs or Trick Flows for that and they are proven. I have been running my AFRs for 2 years now (not a lot of miles) with no issues.

Trickflow twisted wedge 170's, stock block and pistons and no problems at all. Very satisfied.

no, you don’t need to use a custom cam, you just need to pay attention to the various cam events.

should go without saying to clay your heads to check PTV
