Mobil1 is what I use. I would not put Royal Purple in my lawn mower...

Just about any oil that meets API standards for your year of vehicle will do fine. If your engine is blown and/or you push the motor hard, spring for a synthetic as they have superior characteristics in terms of temperature stability, shear resistance and the like. But honestly, for most of us, any off-the-shelf oil would be fine.

There are two key points you should think about: (a) Use an OE Ford oil filter (it has a high-quality anti-drainback valve that helps keep the engine oiled immediately after start-up following an extended period of non-use) and (b), change the oil frequently.

Ive turned into a Castrol Syntec freak......as for filters - Motorcraft, K&N or
Mobil 1.

Mobile 1 and a FRAM or K&N, never had a problem with either brand.

Always heard fram can cause issues on our cars... Though I say that without any links to proof nor even a reasonable explaination....

Valvoline oil and Motorcraft filter. My dad's 500,000 mile van runs that, as do several 250,000+ mile trucks around our farm. Pretty hard to beat if you ask me. And while it won't cover a car that has parts that would void a warranty (i.e. any kind of modifications), Valvoline has an engine guarantee, which shows how confident they are in their oil.

I use mobil 1 with the motorcraft filter. Seems to work just fine for me.

I use Valvoline. Can't stand Royal Purple. IMO that stuff is way overrated

I got 5 qts of castrol syntec and a k&N oil filter for 27 bucks at kregan the other day. Couldn't beat that price. The most important thing is to check the level, low oil = destroyed mod motor.

I never get tired of the Royal Purple bashing. I've never used it, but I find both the positive and negative remarks funny. I've used Mobil 1 for almost 20 years.
