I know it alllllll depends on your car/track conditions/driving... But give me a round about psi. I was told by BFG not to go under 12 psi. I've got an 83 GLX Vert fully stripped, weighing a shy over 2700lbs. 306 with modded stock heads, cam, everything basically with a dedicated fuel system for the NOS cheater kit enriching 114 octane on a 150 shot. Around 450HP. Tremec 3550, 3.73's, and full on drag suspension.. Shocks, eiback drag kit, control arms. What psi, and what rpm to launch? Thanks guys.

Mine worked best with a nice smoky burnout and 10-11psi cold(burnout will add 1-2psi). With a 3000rpm launch i went 1.70 60'. Thats where i found my best hook...i started with 19 and worked my way down. When i went to raise my launch rpm to 5k, i snapped the carrier pin in 3 pieces. Yes, they will hold. :D

I run 10-11 psi cold, which ends up being around 12 psi hot. Yes, they'll hook. I launch at about 5200 rpm and get high 1.5s and low 1.6s on 275/50-15s.

2700lbs??!!! I hate you. :) My fat pig still weighs about 3050 w/o me! Damn fat vert.

I'm happy now! hah... I can't wait to cut short times like that and get deep into the 12s. Next step is some TFTW heads... And back down to like 3.55s cause I'm already running out of RPM at the top of the track. That's why I got 60 series, to help keep me out of the rev limiter at the top of the track.

I would start at about 15-16psi and work your way down. When you go too low the tire looses it's stability, making traction worse. Remember for every 10*F you add about 1psi as a general rule.

I agree, 2700lbs is LIGHT for a vert man good job! I dont mean to take your thread, but you guys are saying you launch at 3000 and even 5200, do you mean you are revving it and just dumping the clutch at that rpm or do you still have to drag (feather, slip, whatever its called) to hook? Just wondering, i have BFGs also and i dont know exactly how i should launch. I also have full drag suspension (in sig).

Yeah, I'd liek to know too... 3000+RPMs steady and at the green floor it and pop the clutch? Also, I put them on today and I took them out... With 25 psi on the street. I know beign new they might not hook so well, but I did a little burnout and tried to launch... No nitrous, and it still spun if I got too aggressive with the clutch, and spun on the 1-2 shift. I bet these things hook a shiot load better at the track that's prepped and lower PSI then on the street, yes???

I run 12 psi cold and I do a nasty second gear burnout and then I rev the motor to 3500 to 4000 depending on track conditions and I dump the clutch with the throttle at 3/4 and then smash the throttle once I feel it hook.
I am not sure if this is the best way but it has netted me 1.6 60 foot times.
