Why get a 75mm TB when throttle response differs in a negative light, and it cost more.
Why not go cheaper, same quality, plenty of flow and better throttle response?
It had nothing to do with the opening of the snout it was the built in EGR not letting more CFM through like mentioned already. So if you don't have an EGR you solved half the problem, the other problem is some how shoving 800+CFM through an intake that can't support that.blksn955.o said:My problem with this is that the aftermarket makes an elbow that has the larger opening now. So isnt that a non-issue now? Most of the new elbows are what 70mm and isnt there one or two that are 75mm? Now on the stock intake I see that point...but on an aftermarket or more performance intake I just dont buy that reason.
Pokageek said:Oh God not the dreaded HP/TB thread, lol. Ok, so why did you need a 70mm, why not use a 65mm?..or 58mm stock? and..how do you know you wouldn't make more with a TB = your intake elbow?![]()
"I gained 19hp and 16TQ from just switching from stock 60mm TB to 75mm BBK TB
In that time i was runing 94-95 Cobra intake that was gasket mached ,not fully ported
This year i witch from Cobraintake to TFS Track Heat intake ,but i never redyno again because i broke tranny one week before i supposed to dyno car to see whats going on with TFS Track Heat intake I may see some less HP due new TKO500 tranny , i will let you know when i redyno again" - Slow 5.0
"For stock cars/stock intakes, sure...but a larger throttle body will definitely give you more power on a heads/cam/intake car or a power adder car. Slow5.0's experience definitely is a good example of this." - Swarzkopf
So I am not saying go by a 90mm TB, lol. But 75mm ain't goin to hurt anything..
Anyway, I am getting off topic. All your input is very helpful and useful thanks for the input guys!
P.S. Thanks for the comment on the EGR, that explains it I guess. I removed mine though.
