DAYTONA BEACH
I just went to a 3 speed auto and I need a shifter. I was thinking about the cheetah shifter but its 300.00 dollars and I have alot of other stuff to buy. I know you get what you pay for but I need other stuff bad. The car is a street/strip car so I need a nhra approved shifter. I was thinking of the B&M pro stick but I heard bad stuff from friends. What shifters are you using on auto's and do you like them. I would like to get a good shifter for around 170.00.

I like my prostick... but its not something I would use regularly on the street. I would look into a B&M hammer shifter. Its nice cause its a ratchet shifter which will be nice when shifting manually but it will also have an easy shift into drive (unlike the prostick)...

I'm hoping to braket race my stang when I'm finished so I would rather have a good track shifter. But I also drive my car on the weekends. How do you like the prostick? I also have a rev manuel valve body.

the prostick is a great shifter but the problem is, its a pain to go from park to drive and from drive to park. There is a reverse safety built in, and it basically takes 2 hands (one to move the shifter and the other to push the safety lever forward) to put the thing back into park. Its an odd shifter and I really think I would only recommend it on a full track car. I have it installed right now becuase it came with my ArtCarr AOD. I was going to put a 2002 GT interior into my 69 and went ahead a bought a Hammer shifter for everyday driveing because I would have gone crazy with my prostick.

Overall, I really think the hammer shifter would be the best bet if you ever drive the car on the street. It has a solid ratchet system that makes it so you just push the shifter lever forward to upshift and pull it back to let it downshift. Its almost seems like the new cars with sports shift where you just push up or down to shift.
